SUMMARY

On a daily basis, performs a three way match including the receipt, the PO and the invoice. Verifies quantities, pricing and applies use tax if applicable. Utilizes JDE system to vouch invoices. On a weekly basis will pay invoices. Payment of invoices to be made by Paymode, wire transfer, auto debit, credit card or printed checks. On a monthly basis completes accounts payable closing process and assists with physical inventory.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Performs diversified duties in maintaining accounting records.

Assists and directs one or two others on accounting or bookkeeping assignments.

Analyzes facts to determine action to be taken within the limits of standard practice.

Ability to communicate and resolve issues with external and internal customers in professional manner.

Assists with special projects as necessary.

Verifies that all expenses are authorized (matches purchase order and receipts).

Codes Use Tax and1099's.

Analyzes vendor invoices.

Verifies credits.

Assist in processing debit memos.

Checks allocation of charges on bills payable.

Utilizes math skills to do allocations and complicated splits of expenses for account coding.

Understands how to convert currencies.

Codes expenditures to accurate accounts.

Processes invoices into the computer system.

Maintains A/P files.

Completes the A/P closing process.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Technical skills in account reconciliation and month-end close responsibilities, etc.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

High degree of computer skills and problem solving abilities.

Ability to use ten-key adding machine.
