SUMMARY
Performs preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance to tooling including injection molds, diecasting molds, rim injection molds (polyurethane) and all associated support equipment. Conducts and documents inspections and overhaul of tooling. Uses prevision testing and measuring equipment. Handles and stores chemicals and industrial lubricants by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Recognizes and uses basic hand tools, fasteners and hardware in proper application. Utilizes technical documentation to solve simple tooling malfunctions.
Familiar with basic shop and electrical safety guidelines.
Basic welding skills - including MIG & TIG.
Identifies gears, bearings, chains and other basic mechanical components. Conducts alignments and basic mechanical repairs.
Trouble shoots basic electrical components (ex. switch, fuse, heater, switches).
Replaces hydraulic cylinder seals, valves and cylinders. Assembles and installs hydraulic hoses.
Replaces pneumatic cylinder seals, valves and cylinders. Assembles and installs air line and fittings.
Performs preventive maintenance in shop environment – Disassembly, cleaning, inspection and reassembly of complex tooling.
Performs initial troubleshooting of complex tooling at production area, trouble shoots proximity switches, repairs or replaces air and coolant fitting components at the molding processes. Familiar with basic molding machine operations.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Must be willing to work and cooperate with multiple personnel from several departments.
Must be willing to adhere to strict deadlines.
Must be able to make basic logical decisions.
